GARETH SAYS...
By the end of the year i will have spent just under 100 nights away from New York (mainly with work but with a few holidays chucked in).
Although there is a big downside to this (i.e being away from the one i love) there is actually a pretty good upside! As a non-resident i don't have to pay State Tax on the nights i am out of New York State. Roll on January and a big refund - it will be a few thousand bucks!!!!
