Sale Madness

GARETH SAYS...

I read in the papers a few days ago about the WalMart employee who was crushed to death unlocking the store doors as 100s of people pilled up to snap up a Black Friday bargain.

Has the world gone mad? Is $10 off a screwdriver set really worth killing someone for? I know times are tough but let's all try and relax a little.

A Wal-Mart employee in new york state's long island died Friday when a throng of shoppers surged into the store and physically broke down the doors, a police spokesman said.
The 34-year-old man was at the entrance of the valley stream wal-mart store when it opened at 5 a. m. and was knocked to the ground, the police report said.
The exact cause of death was still to be determined by a medical examiner.
Four shoppers, including a 28-year-old pregnant woman, were also taken to local hospitals for injuries sustained in the incident, police said.

This really was a sad story. It reminds me of crazy ladies in the UK who queue for hours just to get into Next at 5am on Boxing Day even though it's fucking freezing and there are much better things you could be doing on boxing day. Seriously, people are insane!
